I still don’t get why I ignore my inner voice.
I’m not highly superstitious, but I believe more than 3 reoccurring events are beyond coincidence. I can never escape the lesson that seems to accompany those moments. Though I pray to not keep encountering the same premonition, I am grateful for the chance to get it right the next time. Here’s my coincidence or nah list:
1. Car accidents
I have almost hit about 4 pedestrians with my car. They’ve truly appeared like angels as I’ve attempted to make right and left turns. Never take for granted that the way is clear. Always check your blind spot.
2. Ants
They’ve invaded my closet on a second floor dwelling, car, and workspace. They’re practically old friends at this point, but they only come when I’ve been overworking. Like a reminder that if we can organize ourselves to get job done, maybe it’s time to you join the colony and ask for help.
3. Pencils
Just one pencil incident, but several nicks and bruises from being in a frantic state. I rushed past a student who happened to extend his pencil simultaneously. So glad I wasn’t at full speed or else it may have gone further into my leg. India Arie always comes to be in these times: “slow down baby, you’re goin’ to fast…” The lesson is to be present. I can’t see my now reaching to future or reaching back to the past.
You decide. Am I reading to much into this or maybe you have some more than happenstance lessons too?
