Sugar Story

Sugar Story: Piece of Work

I still don’t get why internal conflict is resolved with external circumstances.

“His butt cheeks were out?” “And not as a part of his costume,” detailed my roommate from the third sublet I had acquired in Queens. “Well that explains why he felt comfortable enough to check the heat pants-less!” Shared spaces in densely populated boroughs can cause people to take ownership of individual rights to privacy. And it took me a while to confront the live in super/leaseholder, but boundaries, we must! I decided to tell him on my way out the door for church. “You are making me uncomfortable.” Simple, but real truth. I felt the cold wind propel me forward as I left him to ponder my defense. Hours later, he checkmated me into looking for a new place.

There can be no assumptions of common curtesy and respect. Assumptions just may be your own consciousness.
