Welcome

I am an aspiring writer and educator. On this blog, expect my “Goonies” time-travel-story through my budding young adulthood to the professional world. Stories that are the backdrop for how I was taught to discredit my intuition and dreams. I call these my “sugar stories” because sweetness and innocence are a private matter once you enter the career arena and adulting, especially when you identify as female. Becoming the teacher I was prophesied to be means sharing my stories to help the brown girl out there navigating the sometimes treacherous terrain of modern American society while keeping a firm grip on the lock and key of her heart.
